More cupcakes

I am learning that I really like taking pictures of food, and  I think this picture [above] could be on the cover of Gourmet or Bon Appetit! (okay, I'm definitely dreaming, maybe more like the back page Kraft Food magazine! ) Ha!

the M's are just white chocolate I melted and put in a plastic bag and piped out on wax paper. I liked how they looked standing upright, but for the ones I gave Misty I had to lay them down flat to fit in the gift box.

Baby Shower gift

Our associate minister's wife, Misti Meredith,  is pregnant with their 2nd child, a little girl they are going to name Madilyn Dawn. I made this gift tin and matching note cards for her shower and the cupcakes were an inside joke, but they turned out pretty fabulous. I may be going into the cupcake business after all the compliments I got. Ladies at the shower wanted to know where I bought them! ha! As if!!! Me? BUY cupcakes??!! They obviously don't know who my mother is, do they!! haha!  They were shocked to learn that I made them myself! { thank you very much!} I may not have inherited my mom's natural knack for cake decorating, but I think my attempt looks pretty good! I can't say I haven't had any experience, I have had a bag of icing in my hands a few times in the past. . .

Jarrod started feeling pretty bad around Wednesday (our anniversary) and by Friday morning he looked really sickly,  so I told him to go to the Dr., what could it hurt? {All this time I had been pretty much ignoring his moans and groans because I have had a cold and bad cough for three weeks.  I thought he just needed to toughen up and go on, like me. . . . } Well,  he goes to the Dr. and guess what? Yeah, he is actually sick!  He has bronchitis and a sinus infection. Yuk!  So, needless to say, I felt pretty bad for not taking him seriously. But most women will agree with me that when their men get sick, they think they are dying! While we learn to live with it until we are so sick we literally can't go on. Am I right?

So. . . by Friday night he was feeling just HORRIBLE and looked even worse! He laid in bed most of the night, and went to sleep early. When he got up Saturday morning he said he was feeling a little better, but not great. We didn't do anything Saturday except lay around and watch tv. Then around 4:00 his work phone rings and he gets called out! And he went!!! I couldn't believe that he was actually going to go to work being so sick! He said he wouldn't if it wasn't such a major deal. Uh huh, right???. . . . argh! Men!!! I told him if he got pneumonia he was on his own! Well, that was 4pm on Saturday, guess when he got home? 6am Sunday!!!! That's real good for a person who was supposed to be at home RESTING!  I get so frustrated when he complains that he has a headache or something and then refuses to take a Tylenol, this is the same deal he complains that he is sick and then goes to work for 15 hrs! I just don't know what to do with him!!  [the hard-headed man!] He did sleep until after 1pm Sunday and is feeling much better now and I  of course still have a cold. ugh. Hopefully we all get well and stay well very soon!

Happy Anniversary to us!

Today is our 3 year anniversary! It just doesn't seem like it's been that long! A lot has happened in these 3 short years though! I love looking back on our wedding day. It was such a wonderful day!! Probably the best day of my life so far! These are some of my favorite wedding pics. . .

A Successful Saturday!

The garage sale had been advertised in the paper for 3 days to open at 7am. . . well when Jarrod raised the garage door at 6:15 to go put the signs up and pull some of the tables out, there was already a crowd waiting to get in! Margie and I were still getting ready so he had to man the fort alone for awhile! I didn't get out there until 6:45 and by that time they had already sold a ton of stuff!! It was a steady stream of business until about 10:00 then things started to slow down a little. We shut things down around 1:00, and all in all we sold a ton of stuff! There were only four boxes (mostly clothes) to take to the Good Shepherd and a box of really nice clothes that Margie is going to take to a local consignment shop. Most of the things we had to sell were marked $0.50-$2.00, so we did really well considering how low we had things marked! It was really chilly for most of the day, we all wore our jackets almost all day long, which was a bummer b/c we didn't get to show off our cool T-shirts! {Btw, the fam was so impressed and surprised with the shirts. In fact we are going to "stage" a picture when we are all together, since Terry had to work on Saturday and Daniel was deer hunting we didn't get a chance to take a family picture.}  It was a good day. . . we got rid of a lot of junk and pocketed some cash for our upcoming trip to Florida, so I'd call that a definite success!!

Staggs' Garage Sale on Saturday!

If you happen to be in Searcy on Saturday, please come by and see us!! We'd love to sell our junk to you!!

Time:  7:00 am to whenever

   Place:  307 Jennifer Lane, Searcy

Yes, I created a "logo" for the event and you can laugh, because I even made T-shirts for all six of us haha!. . . . I know it's a bit ridiculous, but I think it's going to be really funny! And No, I don't have too much time on my hands, I have just been staying up late, lately!! I think they turned out really well, Jarrod even likes them. He actually said he'd wear his on Saturday!!

. . . pictures will posted after the weekend!

It's just Wednesday?

It really seems like it should be Friday! This has been a long week. . . last Friday I had some girlfriends from church over for dinner and movies. My friend Amanda can't go out in public with baby Landon until spring, since he is a preemie and is still so susceptible to virus's and he's a cutie pie which means germy strangers might want to come up and touch him! And she can't have that!! So, we had a small get together so they could get  out of the house. I did hold him and it was kinda scary! He is so tiny! And he has to wear some monitors. I wish I had taken some pictures, because he really is a cute baby!   Taki was very interested in him, she want to smell of him and get into his things, so we had to put her up for the evening. We had a really fun time and ended up not even watching any of the movies I rented!

Saturday Jarrod's parents came to Jonesboro and we went to dinner and then Jarrod and Terry went to the ASU game while Margie and I did some shopping! We had so much fun, and even indulged in some dessert. . .shopping and dessert? It just doesn't get much better than that! I really am so fortunate to have a mother-in-law that I like to spend time with. I know so many people that have a strained relationship with their in-laws, but not me they really make me feel like I am just another one of their kids! I know I am very lucky!

Sunday I woke up with a horrible sinus headache and sore throat and cough. . .ugh. I started to feel a little better by the afternoon and after church Sunday night we met with our Friends Forever group for Pizza. I am still suffering from a cold, it is just a part of the stuff in the air and weather changing, I guess.

Monday my mom was in town to run some errands and so she took me out for lunch (at SFBC one of my favs!) and then after I got off work she was still in town so we convinced my dad to come to J'boro, too so we could all go out to eat.

Last night when we got off work we headed out to shop for Margie's birthday which we are celebrating this weekend. . . we are going to Searcy Friday for her birthday and are having a HUGE garage sale at Terry & Margie's house on Saturday.  It should be another busy weekend!

I am taking off work on Friday so we can get to Searcy early and start working on the garage sale stuff. . . there is a lot of work involved in getting things ready!

Cat in the hat?? How about Cat in a drawer?!

IMG_0531 Seriously?!? What is she thinking?? We were laying in bed watching tv and I had my nightstand drawer open and here's what happened! She is definitely entertaining! By the way the funniest thing was watching her try to squeeze in there and trying to lay down.  Very funny! I don't think she realizes how big she has gotten! This is just one of many funny places she has found lately!

Finally Complete!

The mirror for our dresser finally came in today, and I am so happy that this room is DONE! Well. . .almost. . . we are going to get a new tv in the near future, but we are still researching for that purchase! I really love how it all came together!
