Just to fill you in on the week we had pre-party. . . Arden started running a fever on Wednesday morning. I took her to the Doc Thursday, they said she had a virus or it was from teething. She was still running a fever on Friday and was really fussy. But by Friday nights she was acting like herself again (pretty much) Saturday she acted like she felt better, so on with the Party!! My mom and my friend Lori came to help me decorate the pavilion behind the church for the party. It. Was. Hot. and it was windy. Not a good combo for an outside picnic/party!
I really thought it would cool down by 5pm and make it less miserable. Well, that didn’t happen. It was so hot. Soon after Jarrod showed up with the kids I noticed that Arden had a rash. We figured it was just from the heat. Well she still had it Sunday and we did some research and determined that she had Roseola. Everything she had been experiencing throughout the week was described on the website as this virus right on the dot! So that is why she has a rash in the pictures. I feel a little less like a bad mom since it wasn’t from the heat after all. I didn’t make her wear a hair bow or her pretty party dress- it was just too hot! And pretty much nothing turned out the way I wanted it to, but I guess that’s life. She had a great party with lots of family and friends around to help celebrate and that’s what is most important!
A big thanks to everyone who came out and braved having a heat stroke!! We love you all so much!! Arden is so blessed to have so many people that love her! Shout out to my mom, who made the cupcakes, Arden’s mini cake and painted the mason jar centerpieces. She also came up and helped me decorate! What would I do without her?! And my Aunt Christina (Cookies are my Canvas) made the cookies, didn’t they look awesome!!
By the way. This was my first and last picnic/birthday party outside. Live and Learn!
