Peebles Farm

Stratton was out of school today, so we got up and headed for Hickory Ridge, picked up Gigi and off to the Pumpkin patch we went! It was a nice day- warmer than I thought- but we had a good time and were all exhausted when we left! We got there around 10:30 and left around 2:30! We did every activity they had available-except the big corn maze. We rode a wagon pulled by horses, a train and a hayride. We played on their playground, had lunch and finally picked some pumpkins to take home!

The best picture I got of them together!

I left the kids at mom and dad’s house for the night, so Jarrod and I could have a date night for our anniversary (which was on the 22nd-9 years!). We had dinner at Skinny J’s and then thought about seeing a movie, but none of them started till after 10pm! Ha! Too late for us! So we ran to get some groceries and that was our big date night! Man, we are old!

Baby Darcy!

Darcy Dillon Wilson, arrived Tuesday October 21st at 6:06pm.

7.3lbs and 20 inches long

We were at home when she was born, and I got a text from Dillon to tell us the news and a picture, so I told the kids “baby Darcy is here!”, well guess what Arden did? She ran to the front door! I guess she took my announcement a little to literally. Ha! The rest of the night I couldn’t pry my phone away from her! She wanted to see the picture of baby Darcy!! It was getting late, and Dillon and Brandye had a long day so we didn’t try to go see them that night. I went at lunch today and got to hold her for awhile, and then when we got home tonight we all went to visit. Surprisingly we were the only ones there and we had a nice visit. Newborn babies just seem so little when your baby is a 2 year old! I can’t get over how small she is, and yet she’s bigger than either of mine were when they were born!

They were excited to hold her!

Arden tried to take off with her! I think she thinks she’s going to be her new babydoll! She didn’t like it much when her daddy held the baby, but was ok with me holding her as long as she could sit right beside me. I just can’t wait to see them together in the years to come, especially Arden and Darcy. I have a feeling Arden’s going to be teaching her all kinds of things!

Memphis Zoo

The kids were a little bit crazy this morning. They woke me up at 6:30, as usual. When will they learn to sleep in on the weekends?!!

Yep. That’s underwear on his head. . . .

. . .but at least it was clean.

Arden LOVES to take pics of herself making silly faces.

Jarrod worked this morning, but the weather was so nice we decided that when he got home we’d high-tail it to Memphis and take the kids to the zoo! We haven’t been since Arden was born! We have tried to go a few times, but it just never worked out. Today’s trip was very last minute, but it seems like that’s how we do things anymore! I had the kids fed lunch, and pretty ready to hit the road when Jarrod got home from work. I was hoping they’d both take a good nap on the way! We got there around 2:30, and it just so happens that they were having “Boo at the Zoo” so it closed at 5:00, and then re-opened at 5:30. We were afraid we wouldn’t have enough time, but it was perfect. The kids did really well. We took the sit and stand stroller we bought last December and it worked great! They wouldn’t cooperate at all about having their picture taken, of course.

I tried and tried, and this is the best I got. . . .

They drive me crazy.

See! He’s actually sticking his tongue out at me!

The kids were really well behaved for the most part. We got to catch a lot of the animals out, and even saw the sea lion show! They loved seeing the animals, I think Arden was a little overwhelmed at times! She can be a little skittish, and I think a few times she was a little closer than she felt comfortable being! We left the zoo right at 5pm, and I’m glad we didn’t stay for the Boo at the Zoo! The line to get back in was enormous! We decided to run by Gigi’s and grab cupcakes to take home, then had dinner at Firebirds. The kids were really good eating, too. But it wasn’t long after we got in the car headed home they were both sound asleep! All in all it was a great day!

Slow start to October

How is it already the middle of October??
We really haven't been up to much the last couple of weeks. . . Which has been so nice!

Both kids fell asleep in the floor one night while we were watching TV, arent they sweet (when they are asleep!)

Arden got new shoes, this girl loves her shoes!! She didn't want to take this pair off even after everything else came off!.

We took the kids to ASU's homecoming game. We got there early in order to see the homecoming court since Trey was the little Mister ASU. So, we didn't even make it to halftime before the kids were too restless to sit still any longer!
