Memphis Zoo

The kids were a little bit crazy this morning. They woke me up at 6:30, as usual. When will they learn to sleep in on the weekends?!!

Yep. That’s underwear on his head. . . .

Arden LOVES to take pics of herself making silly faces.

Jarrod worked this morning, but the weather was so nice we decided that when he got home we’d high-tail it to Memphis and take the kids to the zoo! We haven’t been since Arden was born! We have tried to go a few times, but it just never worked out. Today’s trip was very last minute, but it seems like that’s how we do things anymore! I had the kids fed lunch, and pretty ready to hit the road when Jarrod got home from work. I was hoping they’d both take a good nap on the way! We got there around 2:30, and it just so happens that they were having “Boo at the Zoo” so it closed at 5:00, and then re-opened at 5:30. We were afraid we wouldn’t have enough time, but it was perfect. The kids did really well. We took the sit and stand stroller we bought last December and it worked great! They wouldn’t cooperate at all about having their picture taken, of course.

I tried and tried, and this is the best I got. . . .

The kids were really well behaved for the most part. We got to catch a lot of the animals out, and even saw the sea lion show! They loved seeing the animals, I think Arden was a little overwhelmed at times! She can be a little skittish, and I think a few times she was a little closer than she felt comfortable being! We left the zoo right at 5pm, and I’m glad we didn’t stay for the Boo at the Zoo! The line to get back in was enormous! We decided to run by Gigi’s and grab cupcakes to take home, then had dinner at Firebirds. The kids were really good eating, too. But it wasn’t long after we got in the car headed home they were both sound asleep! All in all it was a great day!
