Branson Trip

Our annual MAP conference was this past weekend. It’s probably my favorite project/event to plan, but I am always glad when it’s over!! We had a really good time, as always. The meeting went really well. We did some shopping and got to eat at some of our favorite places. This year there was a lot going on at the Chateau. They were having a Breakfast with Santa (that pretty much the whole group went to) on Saturday morning. It was fun, well for me it was anyway! Jarrod had to stand in the santa line for about an hour! Then when it was finally Stratton’s turn he didn’t want to sit in his lap and of course cried!

It was fun, but we didn’t get a bit of rest! I had started getting sick late last week, so I was wrestling with that and of course Stratton was out of his routine so he was a little stinker sometimes. . .and having my parents around the whole time was really nice, but it didn’t help him in the behavior department!! He knows he can get away with stuff when they are around!

I didn’t get many pictures, mainly because I thought I lost my camera. Thanks to Laura for letting me use hers at the Breakfast with Santa! I did find it on Saturday night in a pocket in the diaper bag!

Really long line! There were about 300 kids!!

Santa came in on a fire truck!! Stratton liked to climb on it.

That’s my boy!

We can’t get the sweeper vac out without a fight! Stratton wants to do it HIMSELF! Which is actually fine with me! He doesn’t do too bad of a job! He does get pretty upset when the battery finally runs down though.

It's Christmas time!

Stratton is ready for Santa in his red and green pj's!

So, I think it's a little mean to put up a Christmas tree with a 1 year old in the house, I mean all the glittery balls and sparkly ornaments look like toys to a toddler! Never the less, I have put up our tree. We thought last year that we would buy a bigger one at the end of the season at a sale, but never got around to it. So here we are year #5 with the skinny little tree yet again! Don't get me wrong I think it's great. . .just a little small for our big living room. In preparation for the damage our little guy could do to the poor unsuspecting, adorned fir tree, I did go and buy new (unbreakable) ornaments. I thought, why risk losing my pretty, expensive, glass ones to a 3 foot tornado?? So, I bought a big box of them at Sam's and then found some more at Target, then added in the homemade ones that my Nanny made me years ago and Ta-Da!! Our new kid friendly tree! We are trying to keep him from pulling them off, but at least if he gets one by us I don't have to worry about it breaking!

Fa-la-la-la-la. . . . 27 days till Christmas!

Thanksgiving week

Wednesday I got off work early, while I was slaving in the kitchen Stratton and Taki were kickin' it in the recliner!

Thursday we went to my grandma and grandpa's house for lunch with my dad's side of the family. We had a good time. All my Aunt Kay and Uncle Doug's kids were home and we only get to see them about once a year at Christmas, so it was nice visiting with all of them. Poor Stratton was the only boy! We stayed there till about 4pm then we headed to Searcy for dinner with Jarrod's mom side of the family. We went to his Aunt Glenda and Uncle Garry's house and Stratton had two boys to play with so that was good! We stayed the night in Searcy since it was so late and such a long day!

Friday Jarrod and I did venture out to Hay's to see if we could find any good deals. We got a few things but not many. We are going to have to get with it! Christmas is just a few weeks away! We headed home around 4:30 and my mom and dad stopped by our house on their way home from Memphis (they had been to check on Mr Sherman) and I made pizzas. They took Stratton home with them since we had planned on going to see Amy and Dustin on Saturday and taking them supper.

Saturday we didn't do a whole lot. I cooked and cleaned and did some grocery shopping and Jarrod went to a gun show. Then we went over to Dustin and Amy's about 6:30. . .it would have been sooner but the game was on and it was a nail biter! We got to see Juliet with her eyes open this time! I should have taken some pictures, she has changed so much in the last few days! We didn't leave their house till almost 10pm- that's really late for us these days!

Today was another uneventful day! I am not looking forward to going back to work! Being off makes me lazy! But I have lots of stuff coming up in the next few weeks, not to mention xmas craziness! Now that Thanksgiving is over it's time to buckle in for the holiday season rush-rush-rush!
