My last post was Friday evening after Strattons surgery. He did great on Saturday, we even ventured out to Sams Saturday evening! But after we got home I started feeling achy and tired. . . Yep. I was running a fever. I went to the doctor first thing Sunday morning and was told I had bronchitus and an upper respitory infection. When I got back, Jarrod went to church and I stayed home with Stratton. After church Jarrod went to pick up my meds and got us all some lunch. After a quick nap Jarrod's parents came to visit and my mom and dad brought Arden home.
I ended up staying home all week. My mom was coming to keep Stratton since he was out of school for Thanksgiving, so I did get a little rest on Monday. Monday night Arden started running a fever. So first thing Tuesday I got up (still running fever) and took her to sick call. We saw one of the docs we dont really care for. He determined that she just had something viral and put her on a steroid. He said her ears and everything looked ok, but decided to do a breathing treatment in the office. When we got done, mom decided that Stratton was ok enough for her just to take him home with her. By Wednesday I was feeling a little better, due to Brandye calling me in a steroid pack after I was still running fever on Tuesday and figured I had something viral, like Arden. Wednesday I stayed home with Arden, we were only working half a day so I didn't see the point in having someone come keep her for a few hours.
Thursday we had lunch at grandpa and grandma's house with the Wilson side of the family, then we went to my nanny and papa's to see the Gibson side. Stratton got to play with Cooper and they helped decorate Nanny's Christmas tree.
After that we headed to Searcy. We went to Jarrods aunt and uncles house and visited for a bit before heading to his parents house. The kids got to stay in Searcy with Nan and Pa for the weekend!
Jarrod and I both went to work on Friday. I didnt have to but boy I needed to! I liked having the office to myself! I worked till almost 6 then came home and crashed! I slept till almost 11 on Saturday! Jarrod put the tree up and I fluffed it but wasn't feeling motivated to decorate it! We did go out to eat and thought bout seeing a movie, but opted to rent one instead! Sunday we got up went to church (actually got to listen to the sermon with no kids to distract us!) then we grabbed a bite to eat and I took a short nap before the kids came home.
Stratton was recovering well. Still wasn't eating as much as normal, but overall doing good. He was taking tylenol a out every 4 hours but didn't seem like he was in pain. Sunday night I think he was just tired and missed us, because he was a mess!
Sunday night Arden woke up with a fever, but after a dose of tylenol by morning she wa acting fine. I sent her to school, mainly because I absolutely had to go to work! Well, they called about noon and said she was running fever. Great. I left work and of course the doctor's office didn't have any appointments so we'd have to wait till Tuesday morning to bring her in. I had a meeting Tuesday and was so behind I had to go to work, so Tuesday morning Jarrod took her to the doctor. We almost backed out, she was only running a low fever and didn't act like she felt bad at all! Well, it turned out it was a good thing he took her anyway! Poor baby had a double ear infection AND pneumonia in both lungs! Jarrod's mom came and stayed with her Tuesday. I worked till 5, picked up Stratton picked up Arden's prescriptions and hunted down some children's probiotics, since she was on 2 antibiotics they said it would really mess her stomach up. I think we got home about 6:30. Arden was acting fine! Kids are so tough!
My mom came up and stayed with her Wednesday and Thursday until about 2pm. Then I took her back to the doctor. She got a good report and the doctor said her lungs sounded almost all clear again. Her oxygen levels were back to normal, too! Whew! They put her on some different antibiotics and some cough medicine.
Thursday evening it started freezing rain, sleeting and snowing! So, no school or work!
