"Here kitty, kitty!"

I took these this morning before we left. This is about as close as Taki will get to Stratton. He LOVES her. He laughs and smiles every time he see's her. And if she is in the floor and walks by him he lunges at her. He just doesn't understand why she won't let him grab her! Occasionally, if I am in the floor with him she will let him "feel" her, but he can't hold his excitement and starts going crazy and she immediately runs for her life. She better get ready, when he gets mobile she is going to have to find a good hiding spot to get away from him!

Jarrod and my dad went to the ASU game Saturday night, so after mom did some shopping she came by and helped me get Stratton ready for bed. The bubbles on his head was her idea. . .I don't think he liked it much.

Long week(s)

Well it's been two weeks since my last post and that is mainly because we have been busy, and partly because I have been lazy!

Last Monday (Feb 8th) it snowed AGAIN, for the 3rd time this year. It was prettier this time because it was wetter and it stuck to the trees. . . .

So, we stayed in on Monday and most of Tuesday. It was so cold, and Jarrod was working, so I didn't take S out in the snow this time. We had fun staying in, anyway. He thinks it is so much fun to play in his food. . .which I only allow when I have plenty of time to clean up!

I did venture out on Tuesday and went to work after lunch and took Stratton with me. He did pretty good, considering. Then because they weren't able to work Monday and Tuesday Jarrod had to work late Wednesday, Thursday and he had to go in on Friday, so Stratton had to go back to work with me for most of the day on Friday, too. He wasn't as good on Friday, however. Margie and Terry came and picked him up on Friday afternoon and he spent the weekend with them. Jarrod and I and Amy and Dustin had reservations at The Mesquite Chophouse Friday night. It was AWESOME. Probably one of the best steaks I have ever had and for sure the best chocolate cake! Jarrod and I stayed the night in Memphis and got up Saturday and went to the outlet mall in Tunica.  We got back late Saturday night, just in time to watch the 10 o'clock news and go to bed, we were wore out from shopping all day! We had a good time on our v-day little getaway, but I was already glad to be home in my own bed!

Jarrod's mom brought Stratton back home Sunday after church and he and I went to a shower for a friend at church who is having twin boys! Monday came and guess what?! It snowed again!! It didn't stick this time and luckily I hadn't planned on going anywhere anyway. Stratton was a stinker for most of the day and I didn't get all my Monday chores done. I guess that's just the way it goes sometimes! I gave him his first sippy cup yesterday and he really didn't know what to think of it. He liked picking it up and throwing it and chewing on the spout, so we will keep playing with it and hopefully he will get the hang of it up before long!

We didn't really make a big deal out of Valentine's day since the week was so busy and we were already planning on spending the night in Memphis, but Jarrod did sent me a beautiful arrangement of roses and star gazer lilies on Thursday at work~ he is such a good husband! And I got him a funny card, so that's about as romantic as we get these days! We got Stratton some books, "Where the Sidewalk Ends" is one of them, it was one of my favorite books as a kid, and a card. But as you can imagine he's just not that into it! He also got lots of cards from the fam and some money and some new razorback clothes from Margie and Terry!

Fun at home

I have really enjoyed the last few days (four counting today!) at home with my little guy. We played, read books, sang and took naps! He really is the sweetest boy, he has started "hugging" a little and it's just the sweetest thing! He smiles and laughs all the time, and makes us laugh at him a lot, I can tell already he is going to have a healthy sense of humor! He has also starting showing real interest in holding his bottle. He knows exactly where is goes and what to do with it! In fact last night he held it for a long time by himself! When he sees the bottle, he WANTS it! Over the last few days I have starting feeding him more cereal and veggies during the morning and at lunch along with his evening meal and he LOVES it. We have tried squash, sweet potatoes, carrots, peas and we had some bananas at breakfast this morning. He is doing so good with eating. He is messy, but rarely turns away from an incoming spoon! 

Yesterday after morning services we braved the icy roads and went to Hickory Ridge for my grandpa's bday lunch. He is 75! We left about 11:45 (we thought the roads would have had time to thaw some by then) and had a rough (really, really rough) ride down there. It took us a little over and hour to get there! It usually only takes about 35 minutes! We only slid once, and it made me nervous, but by the time we thought maybe we should turn around we were about half way there, so we went on and made it fine. The way back was MUCH better, the ice had melted even more with the sun shining. Last night after church we ran to Sonic and the roads were already refreezing and getting icy again. Most of the schools in the area were out again today. The sun is shining, so I assume that whatever is left on the roads today will melt and everything will be back to normal tomorrow.
