We live in Arkansas? More like Siberia!

It has snowed {hard} pretty much all day. I am pretty sure today was as as close to a blizzard as I have ever seen here. The wind was blowing so hard and it is SO cold! In fact I wanted it to stop so I could take Stratton's picture in the snow but it never let up!! Maybe I will get some pics tomorrow. We didn't get much ice, thank goodness! But the roads were plenty slick. I didn't go to work, the schools were out and just a general rule I use is if the schools are out, I am not getting on the roads unless it's absolutely necessary! Jarrod had to go to work, he sat at the substation in Jonesboro all day, well almost all day. He was on his way home at 5:45pm and got a call that they needed him to take the bucket truck to Wynne! So, he turned around and went back to the substation reloaded trucks and got on the road. about halfway there he got another call. . .they wanted him to go back to Jonesboro and wait!? What?! So, he is back at the substation waiting to see what they want him to do, if anything. It's 8:30pm, so he has been on the clock for 13 1/2 hours . . .getting paid time and a half. . .so it isn't SO bad, but I know he is ready to come home, especially since they aren't doing anything I bet they are bored! They still don't know about tomorrow, either. I just checked the Entergy website a few minutes ago and it didn't look like there were many outages, so hopefully the guys won't have to work (or sit and wait) tomorrow, too!

Seriously?

This time last year . . .to the day, we were in the middle of an ice storm, I was probably at Uncle Brian & Christina's house playing farkle (or getting beat at farkle is probably more correct) by candle light! Ha! It was so cold and our house is all electric so I spent the days with the Gibson's while Jarrod worked! We were out of electricity for 3 days, which was not bad considering some people were out for weeks and even months!

Well, guess what? Looks like we might get a milder repeat of last year starting tonight! At least they are forecasting more snow and less ice in our area this go-around! Jarrod was put on a crew and told to pack for 4 days. He has to go in to work tomorrow even though he usually doesn't work on Fridays. They have established crews all across the state already, I think it's all a little overkill, but I guess they want them to be prepared! Hopefully he won't have to travel anywhere! But, it looks like the worst of the ice and stuff will be around the Memphis area, including Wynne, which is close enough that he could possibly be sent there to work if it got bad enough.  I don't mind being "snowed" in, but I don't want Jarrod to have to be out in the dangerous conditions driving and working. I guess that is just part of his job and I should get used to it, but you know me. . . I am a worrier!

I'll fly away. . .

Here is Stratton "surfing" or "flying. . . "

I want that camera!!

I let him have it for a second and then took it away. . . So we are starting to notice that when Stratton eyes something you have he will reach for it, however if you don't let him have it or take it away he gets cranky! In his defense he was hungry and that probably didn't help any!

Finally, a tooth!

I knew it had to be coming soon! Stratton has been drooling buckets lately! He came home from staying the weekend with Jarrod's parent's with a little cold, but I didn't think much about it, after all babies get on average about 8 colds in their first year? Well Monday he was a little fussier than usual, but again I thought it was just from him feeling bad from having so much congestion. I actually felt in his mouth Monday morning, and didn't feel anything.

Tuesday after I dropped Stratton off at Kayce's and was just about to work my cell phone rang, and it was Kayce. She said "Did you know Stratton is getting a TOOTH?!"  Nope. I was so excited to see him later that afternoon and see the tooth for myself! It's just a little bitty white spot right now. . . . .
